Introduction:
Stress is a prevalent issue that affects countless individuals worldwide. It can impact physical and mental health, leading to various adverse consequences. Although numerous coping strategies exist for managing stress, meditation offers unique benefits that may surpass conventional techniques. This paper investigate the effectiveness of meditation as an effective approach in reducing stress.

To analyze the potential benefits of meditation, we conducted a literature review focusing on empirical research studies that assessed the effects of meditation practices on stress levels. A comprehensive search was performed using scientific databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO. The inclusion criteria comprised articles published between 2010 and 2023 that evaluated the impact of different forms of meditation e.g., mindfulness, yoga on stress reduction.
Results:
The review identified several studies demonstrating a significant decrease in self-reported stress levels among participants who regularly practiced meditation techniques. Participants reported improvements in psychological well-being, including reduced anxiety and enhanced emotional stability. Additionally, some studies indicated that long-term meditators exhibited increased resilience to stressors and improved sleep quality.
Discussion:
Meditation has been shown to alter the brn's response to stress by promoting neuroplasticity and enhancing cognitive flexibility. Mindfulness meditation, in particular, encourages individuals to focus on the present moment without judgment, fostering a non-reactive attitude towards stressful stimuli. This approach may help reduce emotional reactivity and facilitate healthier coping mechanisms.
